One goal of the health care reform act passed earlier this year is to provide coverage for more than 40 million additional patients. Unless we expand our capacity to see more patients, we will not be competitive in the new marketplace. Other "health systems" that adapt to these changes will wind up with the majority of patients, and we will be struggling with higher expenses, and even lower reimbursements.
