The past two LegalEASE articles covered general approaches and conduct of a malpractice trial. A chief concern of all practicing physicians—obstetricians in particular—is how they will pay an award to a plaintiff should they lose a malpractice trial. Does their insurance plan adequately cover them for such events? In this article, major types of medical liability coverage are reviewed.
