Clinical Scenario: A 48-year-old G2P2 woman diagnosed with symptomatic fibroid uterus decides to undergo hysterectomy to treat her menorrhagia. She has normal-appearing ovaries on ultrasound and no family history of malignancy. At her preoperative visit, she inquires about her ovaries. Should she leave them in or take them out?
